"I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to hear James Nixon speak about his book ‘The Crash of MH 370’ at a recent Rotary Club of Sandringham meeting. Our members and guests sat enthralled whilst James took us through the theories about what happened to MH 370, the facts behind these and his theory about the crash. The slides and supporting material helped make a difficult topic clear to all of us.
James is a recently retired A380 Captain and his experience and knowledge of aviation was clearly demonstrated by his talk. He speaks well and made for a really interesting evening. The feedback from our members, and the guests that attended, has been overwhelmingly positive.
As Program Director for the Rotary Club of Sandringham I was responsible for arranging James as a speaker. James was responsive to my request, turned up at the arranged time, is enthusiastic about his topic and showed this in presenting it to our members. The Alpine Rally
"The Alpine Rally of East Gippsland is Australia’s oldest motorsport event having being run since 1921. It is run every second year and this year a Legends Night was introduced for the first time. James Nixon was Master of Ceremonies for this as seven of Australia’s greatest rally legends were interviewed by James and spoke about their exploits in the sport.
As MC, James added great humour to the night as well as a wealth of knowledge and insights through thoughtful and interesting questions. His preparation was perfect, he ran the meeting on time, kept the whole evening running at a good pace and excelled in the interaction between the guests and the 150-strong audience adding greatly to the enjoyment of the evening.
At the conclusion of the Rally, James was also MC at the Rally’s presentation dinner. This involved introductions, presentation of trophies to the winners and generally keeping the crowd entertained which was no mean feat with a boisterous crowd of over 500 people in attendance. Once again his engaging personality and ability to captivate the audience while sticking to a strict timetable was what we were looking-for.
James is very professional in every regard and we would have him back in a heartbeat to speak at our next event in two years. We here at The Alpine Rally of East Gippsland recommend him most enthusiastically as an MC or Guest Speaker."
